We had a huge collection of Original Cast Broadway show albums. I got the plot only from reading the synopses on the back of the albums, and I would put together the details from the sequence of songs. It was such a huge mystery, figuring out what the songs were actually ABOUT. I remember my sister told me that Maria (or was it Tony?) died at the end of "Somewhere" in West Side Story, and that if I listened closely I could hear that by the end of the song there was only one voice singing, and I used to put my head right next to the speaker to try to hear Maria (or was it Tony?) die. I would sob and sob.
