Episode 4: The Big Trip

When I was little my family went on a big cross-country vacation ... See animation.
My father used to drive a big blue Ford LTD that was famous not because we had stickers from every place we had been on the windows but because it would often backfire, catching our neighbors' lawns on fire as we would drive by. Every summer we would take the LTD to Wisconsin, the land of cheese, beer, and my ancestral roots. The only bumper sticker we had said: "Escape to Wisconsin". I remember that every time we'd see another car with that bumper sticker we'd all cheer. Once I saw a bumper sticker that read: "Escape FROM Wisconsin". I got a pretty good laugh outta that.

I have shoeboxes full of Me in front of a Gorge, my sister in front of a Flume, my mother in front of an Old Man in the Mountain, my father in front of some Falls. And we also only stayed in AAA-rated hotels with swimming pools.
